Academic Technology Links for 9/26/12

Approved LinksHere are some links we’d like to share with you for the week of September 26th.  Enjoy!

Our own Evan Cordulack here at the Academic Technology blog has released his new WordPress plugin, “PlacePress,” for creating map-based websites.  His plugin focuses on integrating Google Maps with writing.  Check out his post about it here.

“A Digital Solution to Academic Publishing? Introducing Anvil Academic” — Via ProfHacker, an article about a new initiative for digital publishing in the humanities, Anvil Academic Publishing.

“Ten Office Items that Will Be Relics by 2017” — The results of a survey done by LinkedIn about what things will be absent from offices in five years.  It’s interesting to see how quickly “new” technologies push out the old ones.

And, in case you missed it the first time, an article by our own Gene Roche on “Structuring Collaborative Assignments.”
